you've joined Cleversquirrel. We have an area called safety which should help you stay safe when you're

members, they could be your first introductions to raise money for your favourite charity.
Internet service providers, email services and IT departments all work hard to protect you from all horrible spam, yet this means sometimes emails you actually want get lost too. Fortunately, there are ways to ensure you get emails from us.
- Check your email application's spam or junk folder or filter
If you find our email in one of these folders or filters, you should find a hyperlink with it. Clicking on it should add our email address to your address book, so that future emails from us go straight to your inbox.
Put support@cleversquirrel.com in your 'safe sender' list. You may also want to put the domain cleversquirrel in the list. Hotmail and Gmail users, add our email address support@cleversquirrel.com to your address book and you will always get the email.
If you have anti-spam software running on your machine such as Norton or Spam Assassin, add our email address support@cleversquirrel.com and our domain cleversquirrel to the safe sender list.
- Your IT Department or ISP (internet service provider)
If you're still struggling, the chances are your IT department or your ISP is blocking our email before it even gets near your machine. Please advise your ISP and IT department to allow emails to come through to you from support@cleversquirrel.com, from the domain cleversquirrel and from our IP address 66.147.241.147 - this is called 'whitelisting'.
- If all else fails get a new email address
We recommend gmail, as it offers big storage and so far we've had no complaints from gmail users that they don't receive our emails.
Please submit bug reports here. Although we're unable to reply to every bug report at this time, we may contact you for more details about the issue as we investigate the report. Thank you for taking the time to improve the situation.

Policies and Advice
Cleversquirrel Ltd
is registered with the Financial Services Authority under Firm Reference Number 491347. We're an Appointed Representative of
Kingswood Law IFA Ltd, a company that is authorised and regulated by the
Financial Services Authority under Firm Reference Number 453814. If you'd like to
discuss a policy you've registered on Cleversquirrel or if you'd like financial
advice, please complete this form.
To find out whether we've received a completed form from you, once you're a member either as an individual or an employer, sign in to your home page, click the orange 'Policies' button in the centre of your page, then click the link in the light blue box in the top right hand corner. You'll either be presented with a message to say we've received your form, and if we don't, you'll be emailed a personalised form to sign and return to us.
No, that's our job. When we receive your signed authority form, we inform your insurance company that Cleversquirrel is now your 'agent' for the policy and that makes us eligible for charges reclaims where available.
We have no allegiance to any company. We're totally independent. We can deal with any provider. But
bear in mind, only about half of all policies have charges available that can be reclaimed. So we often do a
lot of work for nothing.
This rather depends on how quickly your policy provider responds. Generally speaking, we normally start receiving payments within three months. But to ensure your favourite charity receives as much as possible, we chase your provider after a couple of weeks, and then weekly after that.
Unfortunately, we can only reclaim charges from the date you sign the authority form. So the sooner you do this, the more money will be available for donation to charity. Sadly, we're unlikely to be able to secure any retrospective payments, although we'll try ;)
Yes. Allowing Cleversquirrel to reclaim charges and donate them to charity is not a once-and-for-all-time move. If you'd like to switch away from Cleversquirrel to another adviser, simply sign his or her authority form. From then on, your new adviser will be eligible to any charges reclaims on policies you move, to offset the cost of services they'll provide you. We'd be pleased to help with the transfers, if you need it. It goes without saying your favourite charity will no longer receive donations from policies you switch away from Cleversquirrel.
If you'd like to discuss a policy you've registered on Cleversquirrel, please complete this form.
If you'd like financial advice, please complete this form and let us know exactly what help you'd like.

Donations
The donations we display comprise the actual amount unearthed for charity, together with the amount we expect to be unearthed in the coming year. If we're told a policy is due to finish during the year, we'll only include the amount we expect to receive for the remaining months of the policy. Once a policy stops generating money, either because it matures, it’s cancelled or it’s been transferred away from us, we no longer include it within the projected figure.
From the date a policy is transferred to our agency, money starts accruing in our account with the provider. Depending on the provider and the type of policy, it’ll be paid to us either monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly. However, many providers impose a minimum limit before they release funds to us. If a policy is generating 10 pence per month (which is about the smallest sum we’re likely to receive from a single policy), and the provider has a minimum limit of £400 (which is currently the highest limit we’ve seen), it’ll take many years before we receive the money. Whether we’ve received it or not, that money is allocated for Cleversquirrel and in turn, for charity. Over time, we’ll transfer many policies to our agency with each provider, so this will shorten the period it takes for us to reach the provider’s minimum limit.
At the end of each month, money we’ve actually received in our bank account from providers is transferred to Charities Trust for donation, together with a list of which charities are to receive the money, and how much in each case. Charities Trust distributes the money to the relevant charities alongside any other donations it may be making to the charities at the same time. For reasons explained in the point above this one, it can take many months or potentially years for money unearthed by Cleversquirrel to be paid into our bank account by providers.

No. Cleversquirrel's aim is to raise the most for charity and a key part of this is giving charities as much publicity as possible. If you select a favourite charity, we think it's right they gain the benefit of additional publicity by being featured on your site. Bear in mind, it's only your friends and the charity itself that can see your page.
Any information you add on the Policies page is only visible to you. For your added protection, the information is only accessible via a second password link. Furthermore, your policy number is only partially displayed on the page. The information is saved on a secure server.

Security
Phishing is an online attempt to trick a user by
pretending to be an official login page or an official email from an
organisation you would have an account with, such as a bank or an email
provider, in order to obtain a user's login and account information.
In the case of a phishing login page,
the login page may look identical to the login page you would normally go to,
but the website does not belong to the organisation you have an account with
(the URL web address of the website should reflect this).
In the
case of a phishing email, the email may look like an email you would get from
the organisation you have an account with and get emails from, but the link in
the email that it directs you to takes you to the above phishing login page,
rather than a legitimate login page for that organisation.
To prevent your account information from being obtained
in a phishing scheme, only log in to legitimate pages of the websites you have
an account with. For example, "www.cleversquirrel.example.com" is not
a legitimate Cleversquirrel page on the "www.cleversquirrel.com"
domain, but "www.cleversquirrel.com/example" is a legitimate
Cleversquirrel page because it has the "cleversquirrel.com" domain.
When in doubt, you can always just type in "cleversquirrel.com" into
your browser to return to the legitimate Cleversquirrel site.
Please
note current versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer warn you if you have
navigated to a suspected phishing site, and we recommend you upgrade your
browser to the most current version.
It's possible that malicious software was downloaded to
your computer or that your password was stolen by a phishing website designed
to look like Cleversquirrel. Please carefully follow the steps provided:
- Run anti-virus software: If
your computer has been infected with a virus or with malware, you will need to
run anti-virus software to remove these harmful programs and keep your
information secure.
- Reset password: From your Settings page, you will need to
create a new password. Be sure you use a complex string of numbers, letters,
and punctuation marks that is at least six characters in length. Do not use
words found in the dictionary.
- Never click suspicious links: It's possible your friends could
unwillingly send spam, viruses, or malware through Cleversquirrel if their
accounts are infected. Don't click this material and do not run any .exe files
on your computer without knowing what they are. Also, be sure to use the most
current version of your browser as it will contain important security warnings
and protection features.
Cleversquirrel respects your privacy. We don't distribute your user information to marketers or spammers. What's more, although we're an appointed representative of Kingswood Law IFA Ltd, we won't ever pass any of your details to them. If you want financial advice on any of your policies, or on something new, you'll need to complete this form. You can read more about the way we protect your information in our Privacy Policy.
Cleversquirrel is committed to
protecting your information. We have industry standard and proprietary network
monitoring tools constantly running in our system in order to prevent security
breaches and protect the security of your data.
In
addition, Cleversquirrel always posts to a secure page when users are logging
in and employs industry standard encryption. This may not always be apparent
from the URL (web address), but rest assured our logins are secure.
Cleversquirrel encourages all members to get in touch when they find abusive content.
Cleversquirrel investigates these reports and makes a determination as to
whether or not the content should stay up. All abuse reports on Cleversquirrel
are confidential. If you have witnessed abuse, please get in touch here.
All abuse reports on Cleversquirrel are confidential. The member you're reporting will not know you've reported them. After the report is submitted, Cleversquirrel investigates the issue and makes a determination as to whether or not the content should stay up. In certain situations, the circumstances necessitate more severe action. For instance, members who repeatedly violate our Terms of Service can be permanently banned from the site.
We suggest you block the person. This is found in the Privacy Options of your Settings area. If this doesn't resolve the problem, please get in touch here.

Safety
Cleversquirrel aspires to be an environment where people
can interact safely with their friends and the people around them. We have
implemented many safety and privacy controls on Cleversquirrel as part of our
goal to enable people to share their information with only the people they want
to see it. And we're constantly improving our systems for identifying and
removing inappropriate content and people from the site.
Anyone aged 13 or over can
use Cleversquirrel. That said, parents should consider whether their child
should be supervised during the child's use of the Cleversquirrel site.
Despite Cleversquirrel's safety and privacy controls,
Cleversquirrel cannot guarantee its site is entirely free of illegal,
offensive, pornographic or otherwise inappropriate material, or that its
members will not encounter inappropriate or illegal conduct from other members.
Consequently, you may encounter such content and conduct. You can help
Cleversquirrel by notifying us of any nudity or pornography, or harassment or
unwelcome content by getting in touch here. When confidential complaints are made, Cleversquirrel will use best efforts to remove the offending
content or conduct and to warn or, as appropriate, to bar from the site those
transmitting such content or engaging in such conduct within 24 hours of
receiving your complaint. Cleversquirrel will report back to you within a
week of receiving your complaint to inform you of the steps
Cleversquirrel has taken to address the complaint.
We need all members to report suspicious people and
inappropriate content they encounter on Cleversquirrel. We strongly encourage
members under the age of 18 to talk to their parents or a responsible adult
immediately if someone online says or does something to make them feel
uncomfortable or threatened in any way.
Remember that although using fake names is a violation of
the Cleversquirrel Terms of Service, people are not always who they say they
are. You should always be careful when sending friend requests to, or accepting
friend requests from people you do not know in the real world. And it is always
risky to meet anyone in person whom you don't know through real world friends.
Always follow these important safety tips when using
Cleversquirrel:
- Never share your password with anyone
- Adjust your privacy settings to match your level of comfort, and
review them often
- Be cautious about sharing personal information, especially
information that could be used to identify you or locate you offline, such as
your address or telephone number
- Report members and content that violate our Terms of Service
- Block and report anyone that sends you unwanted or inappropriate
communications
For
parents and guardians
Cleversquirrel strongly urges parents to talk to their
children about the dangers they may encounter online, and to make sure their
children are using Cleversquirrel in a safe manner. Parents may want to install
monitoring software on home computers if they are concerned about what their
children are doing online. Children must know that they should report any
inappropriate or offensive Cleversquirrel content to their parents and to
Cleversquirrel using the tools made available through the site. Parents should
always remind their children to follow the important safety tips listed on this
page when using Cleversquirrel.
